Since January 14th 2020, the Geis Parcel, a company operating in the field of parcel logistics, in the Czech Republic and Slovakia has been acquired by DPD, a member of the DPDgroup. Both companies agreed on the transaction at the beginning of November last year and the acquisition has already been approved by the antitrust authorities. The DPD is thus enlarging its market position immensly.
In the Czech Republic DPD takes over all depots, dispensing points and courier network. Customers will now be therefore able to use over 1250 DPD Pickup points, 30 depots and orders will be delivered by more than 1,500 couriers.
“Last year we celebrated 25 successful years in the Czech market and this transaction marks an important milestone in our operations to date. Therefore, we have entered 2020 in a much stronger position, but with the same goal of providing the highest quality services in the Czech market, ”says Miloš Malaník, CEO and Managing Director of DPD CZ.
For the customers of Geis Parcel CZ nothing changes at the moment and they can use the same services as they used to. The merge of the two companies will be gradual so that DPD will be able ensure the current high level of service.
DPD offers its customers modern transport services that are instantly innovated. For example, it is the only carrier in the market to advise on a one-hour delivery window. The customer can track the shipment through the DPD Courier app, where he can see in real-time the courier arriving with the package. Furthermore, all couriers are equipped with payment terminals that are connected to a scanner, reducing the delivery time significantly.
