The international Transport Logistics fair is successfully under way in Munich. The event is a necessity for professionals not only from the field of transport and logistics but also from a number of other industrial branches.
One of the important topics at Munich trade fair is maritime transport. The discussion is dominated by MariLog International Maritime Logistics Conference which runs parallel with Transport Logistic and focuses on the current maritime situation. Maritime transport is currently experiencing an unprecedented wave of consolidation activities, especially in the container-shipping industry.
Coscon and China Shipping have merged, CMA CGM has taken over NOL/APL, Hapag-Lloyd has joined forces with UASC, and there has been a great deal of speculation about other mergers and takeovers. In addition, Hanjin Shipping was forced to declare bankruptcy. At the same time, major liner shipping companies are restructuring their collaboration agreements with an eye on new alliances. This cleansing of the market is coupled with the hope that conditions in container shipping will become more stable again.
We need to get carries again in the black again, that they will offer an attractive service network and, above all, prices that will be less volatile again, agreed experts and representatives of the maritime transport in Munich at Transport Logistic.
