International Logistic Conference SpeedCHAIN has celebrated the 10th anniversary this year. The tenth SpeedCHAIN was held on 4th and 5th November in the traditional setting of Břevnov Monastery in Prague with motto: Logistics – Transparency and Flexibility. SpeedCHAIN 2015 brought a unique international gathering of more than 500 experts in logistics, transportation and other fields. They discussed the latest trends and looked for solutions to problems encountered by European logistics.
The conference was opened by Miroslav Rumler, an executive director of RELIANT, the company which created the concept of SpeedCHAIN and has been organizing and expanding this conference for ten years. In his introductory speech he pointed out that SpeedCHAIN doesn’t rest on laurels and every year new components to the program are added.
Next speech was held by Deputy Transport Minister Ladislav Němec. He presented the possibilities of railway transport within the logistic supply chain and pointed out that although a large part of railway performance was taken over by liberalized road transport, railways are undergoing a period of stabilization and keeps a considerable potential.
Transport is a sensitive barometer of the economic situation in the region, said Jiří Rusnok, a member of the Bank Board of the Czech National Bank. The world economy is experiencing a fragile recovery after long recession and the recovery is a help for the Czech Republic too. However, this country still does not use all of its potentials in full. The Czech economy lacks innovation and technician experts as well. Also insufficient cooperation between education system and industry persists; Jiří Rusnok described the current problems. But now we can experience a better phase, he concluded.
